Dandy (Livingstone) - Rock Steady With Dandy (Doctor Bird) @320

Dandy Livingstone (born Robert Livingstone Thompson, 14 December 1943, Kingston, Jamaica) is a Jamaican reggae musician and producer.

Dandy Livingstone moved to the United Kingdom in the late 1950s. When London-based Carnival Records were seeking a Jamaican vocal duo, Livingstone filled the requirement by double-tracking his own voice, releasing records in this fashion under the name Sugar & Dandy.

Dandy signed with Ska Beat Records in 1967 and released his debut album entitled "Rocksteady with Dandy" in 1968. The same year he moved into production and formed the duo Dandy & Audrey with Audrey Hall. He later produced the monster hit "Red Red Wine" with Tony Tribe.

In 1968, Livingstone signed to Trojan Records and got his own Trojan subsidiary, Down Town Records.

Memories Of Times Square Record Shop Vols 1 & 2 (2001) @320

With a title like Memories of Times Square Record Shop, you wouldn't think that this Collectables series would have such broad appeal, but it compiles dozens of rare doo wop singles, most of which are excellent, that have changed hands for substantial sums.
Obsessive doo wop fans won't be 100 percent satisfied, of course (these are, after all, budget releases), but the beauty of these discs is that the music can be enjoyed by the informed and merely interested alike. This box set combines appearances from dozens upon dozens of under-recognized groups. Needless to say, there's plenty to devour.

Ok i will share both box sets over the next few weeks just check the post for updates, Volume one consists of five cd's and volume two is comprised of six cd's. Check the tracklists of both on the one page on discogs.  All will be active for 6 months from the day they are added.

Volume 1 - CD1, CD2, CD3, CD4, CD5.

Volume 2 - CD1, CD2, CD3, CD4, CD5, CD6.

Milt Jackson - Bags' Opus (1959) @320

*For me it's really some Jazz Cool, I love the two
“horns”, Art Farmer on trumpet and Benny Golson on
tenor saxophone, an extraordinary osmosis with Milt
Jackson's  vibraphone, along with a fine rhythm section
(pianist Tommy Flanagan, bassist Paul Chambers and
                           drummer Connie Kay).
It's 1958 during the recording and it sounds like they're
playing in the living room next door, a remarkable sound
                           recording !
That's why I love jazz too! (In my playlist)

 Chris Rea – Blue Guitars (2005) @320

Chirs Rea is a british gravelly-voiced singer and guitarist, born March 4, 1951, Middlesbrough, UK, my home town. He is more famous for rock blues, but 2005 he released this wonderful 11 cd box set, where he goes back to his blues roots, sharing his take on Country Blues, Louisiana Blues, Chicago Blues, Electric Blues.

In 1994 Rea had developed stomach ulcers, The following year, he got peritonitis and nearly died.

Rea was first diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the age of just 33. In 2000, he underwent a Whipple procedure, which resulted in the removal of the head of the pancreas and part of the duodenum, bile duct, and gall bladder. Since having this surgery Rea has had problems with diabetes and a weaker immune system, necessitating the need to take thirty-four pills and seven injections a day. He has undergone several subsequent operations. Nevertheless, he found greater appreciation for life, his family, and the things he loves.

2005 saw the release of Blue Guitars, a box set of 11 CDs containing 137 blues-inspired tracks with Rea's paintings as album covers, which is a once in a lifetime ambitious project about the history of blues music. Rea said, "I was never a rock star or pop star and all the illness has been my chance to do what I'd always wanted to do with music, the best change for my music has been concentrating on stuff which really interests me"

I remember Chris Rea saying in an interview how his manager advised him not to release 11 cd's because it would be commercial suicide. But he carried through anyway.

So i will share the 11 CD's over the next few days until it's completed, i will also share the DVD that came with the box set. For tracklist please check the album on Discogs, this is why i will share each album separately so you can take, which ones you like the look of, you don't have to take 'em all!! All links active for 6 months, after that anybody wants a re-up then just shout in the box below.

CD1, CD2, CD3, CD4, CD5, CD6, CD7, CD8, CD9, CD10, CD11, DVD.

 Fishmans – Oh! Mountain (1995) (Media Remoras MRCA-10024) @320

Fishmans are an eclectic Japanese band with its stylistic roots in psychedelia and reggae, formed in Minato, Tokyo in 1987 by Shinji Sato, Kin-ichi Motegi and Kensuke Ojima. They incorporated many different genres and styles into their music throughout the years, like e.g. funk rock, dream pop, ambient pop, trip hop or post-rock and they continue to experiment with new sounds to this day.

I shared this in flac on my site way back in February. It's labeled as Japanese Dub, but i think it's a wonderful album and a very interesting listen. I am gonna add a link, so you can go take a listen first before, you download it. I think if your onto Jazz you may like it.

Bob & Marcia – Young Gifted And Black / Pied Piper (Doctor Bird) (2018) @320

Two best-selling Trojan albums from the early 1970s, featuring reggae music's golden couple, Bob Andy and Marcia Griffiths (who became a member of the I threes) backing Bob Marley. The duet reach #5 UK hit single in 1970 with their cover of Nina Simone's "Young, Gifted and Black" and a #11 hit in 1971 with "Pied Piper". They discontinued their partnership in the mid-1970s, both feeling that it was not bringing them adequate financial reward.
